Holiday Dreaming: Chenchow Little vs. Harry Seidler

Holiday Dreaming: Chenchow Little vs. Harry Seidler

view

With the christmas break around the corner, I’ve started dreaming about summer holidays.  Ridiculously indulgent, expensive, glamorous summer holidays – no matter how far removed from reality. And I’ve found two gems on holiday website Stayz that have taken me to a very happy place in these last few gruelling days of work.

First up is Freshwater House, the Chenchow Little RAIA award winner featured on Culturepublic a few weeks ago, is now available for holiday leasing. $18,000 per week.  Sure, it has four bedrooms so you could pool with friends, but you’re still looking at, erm, $4,500 each.  Now renamed Pacific Sunrise, this Harbord residence features breathtaking seaside views, and is close enough to the action in nearby Manly (including the duck pizza at Hugos).

If you’re more of a wide, open spaces kinda guy or gal, the Seidler masterpiece just outside Bowral (pictured below) might be more your thing.  After a long time on the real estate market, it looks like it finally sold, and the new owners have decided to lease it out.  The price is a more modest $8,400 per week, presumably because it’s not near the beach.  But with the privacy of wilderness, and that pool, I’d say it’s a steal.
