With all the hype surrounding Twilight, True Blood et al, there has been much debate about exactly why it is that Vampires have suddenly risen to unprecedented popularity. Is it a result of increasing gay acceptance (Esquire), post-9/11 conspiracy fears (NY Times), or a result of the Sesame Street generation finally moving from The Count to something more sinister (Huffington Post)? Or can it simply be put down to Stephanie Meyer’s fantastic writing skills?
Hard to say, but one thing is for sure – there’s something in the air.
The Wood Block Residence, by architects Chadbourne+Doss, feels a little like the Cullen residence from Twilight. Except for the lack of vampires, that is. A contemporary take on a traditional mountain hideaway, the stunning house has clean lines and floor-to-ceiling glass to take in as much of that creepy northwest light as possible. Just watch your back.
